How do you measure success?

We use two key metrics (though this is not an exhaustive list): Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and Conversions.

Return on Ad Spend is the money we can track that you've generated from ad campaigns we run.

Conversions are tracked metrics of success, such as sales, lead forms submitted, business visits, or phone calls.

We believe in spending time setting up effective conversion tracking and reporting prior to undertaking projects. While this does represent a high upfront cost, we find it significantly reduces wasted spending and provides clients with greater peace of mind that their ad spend is being managed appropriately.

Do you work for commission or equity?

In marketing, we talk about the four P's: Price, Placement, Promotion, and Product. Depending on our working relationship, we're usually in charge of between one and three of these factors, typically focusing on promotion.

Unless we have a majority equity stake in your business, we wouldn't have control over all of them, and there's no way to guarantee the success of your entire business without having control over them. However we don't accept equity as payment because poor cashflow tends to point to underlying structural organisational issues.

We provide world-class feedback on campaign optimization, but much of that extends beyond our area of control. The best marketing in the world won't change poor customer experiences, bad management, poor business culture, or a bad feedback loop.

We don't work for commission because we're not in control of the entire customer experience. We feel the best brands have products that speak for themselves or the resources to build real points of difference over a sustained period of time.

If you're facing cash flow issues, we strongly advise against engaging marketing professionals.

Who don't you work with?

While we typically don't limit ourselves, there are some industries and types of businesses for which we charge a consultancy fee, higher rates, or expect full upfront payment due to the inherent risk of working with them.

We find that these businesses often struggle to scale, have cash flow issues, or possess poor profit margins, making effective marketing often (but not always) beyond their reach.

If you fall into one of these categories, please still connect with us, but be aware that we charge a premium to reflect the risk of working with you.

These include single-employee owner-operator businesses, Shopify store owners, and hospitality venues.

Can we just hire you to setup a campaign then manage it ourselves?

In theory, this is absolutely possible. In practice, it's never successful long-term. You're not just paying for our experience to set up a campaign; you're also paying for the experience to fix things when they go wrong.

The practical reality is that your customer base isn't a static entity. They're constantly shifting and evolving, which means your campaigns will need to as well.

Critically, you also need the experience to identify where drop-off is occurring and to fix the problem. That experience requires knowledge of conversion tracking, website optimization, branding, calls to action, which ads platform is best for your product, and much more.

While in the short term you may be able to successfully take over and manage a campaign we design without professional assistance, you will be unable to do this long-term

You charge a premium compared to your competitors. Why is that?

Imagine marketing as akin to taking a hike. In theory, if you're willing to walk forever, you might reach your destination.

But if you hire an experienced guide, you're paying to achieve the shortest possible route to your destination in the most efficient manner possible.

We charge a premium because we offer a point of difference when it comes to the quality of work that our competitors cannot match. If this is not within your budget, that's totally understandable.

We don't want you to over leverage yourself. That creates unnecessary stress for everyone! However we'd encourage you to simply not invest in marketing at present rather than waste money on a poor strategy.

If you're in a position where liquidity is an issue we'd strongly encourage you not to engage marketing services.
